Vesa Uotila

I joined Intera and the sector of private equity in the summer of 2010. Before that, I had studied financing at the Helsinki School of Economics, taken a look at the mechanical engineering industry at Wärtsilä, and been involved in the creation of growth strategies at the management consultancy McKinsey & Company.
 
Regarding Intera, I was intrigued by the possibility of getting involved in the promotion of new domestic and international success stories. It is my belief that a private equity firm can provide a company with a lot more than mere capital. 
 
Combining Intera’s competence and resources with the know-how of successful entrepreneurs has proven to be an effective growth accelerator. I also like Intera’s straightforward and practical way of working – which also seems to sit well with the way entrepreneurs think.
 
To date, I have been involved in the growth stories of three Finnish companies during my time at Intera. In a short period of time, Delete has grown to become a major operator in the Nordic market for environmental services. Normek has gone through a robust period of globalization during Intera’s ownership, and in Kamux, we have had the opportunity to be involved in building the most rapidly growing used cars trader in Finland.
