Finland has a great many owner-run companies with good products and a high level of skills, but also an ownership base that often fails to provide adequate possibilities for any kind of more significant international expansion. The ageing of current owners has also increased the need for ownership restructuring. Private equity firms such as Intera play an increasingly important role in enabling the growth of Finnish companies.

For me, establishing Intera together with Tuomas and Jokke represented a big step into a field of which I had no previous operative experience. Come to think of it, this was the sole segment in the field of financing that I had not worked in until that time. I find my practical day-to-day work with Intera’s brilliant junior team to be exceptionally rewarding. I also believe that I can pass on the useful perspectives and background information that I have accumulated over the years to our younger people.

My goal with regard to Intera’s second investment fund is to develop investment targets in which I too can invest a strategic portion. Given our current personnel resources and the practical experience we are accumulating on a daily basis, I am fully confident that Intera will become the leading Finnish private equity investor within its own segment.
